| Paulino Alcantara Riestra |
If you're a football fan, have you ever heard of Paulino Riestra? I thought he was just like the Younghusband's who were playing in one of Europe's reserve teams. But no. Amazingly, Paulino Riestra goes way back in 1912 when he first played for FC Barcelona and became a record goalscorer for the team.

Although he's unknown to the younger generation, he is revered by the world football community and some of the older generation. He was named the best Asian player of all time by FIFA in 2007. His debut's centenary (in playing football) was even celebrated by FC Barcelona last February 2012.

This only shows that by digging through history the richness of the place and its people can be much appreciated and learned, and thus be a source of pride to the community. And that is why I am proud to be an Ilongga!
