The Iloilo City Government has announced the official Iloilo hymn, “Himno sang Dakbanwa sang Iloilo”. The aim to adopt an official hymn is to further unite and promote a sense of pride within Ilonggos.
“Himno sang Dakbanwa sang Iloilo” by Prof. Arne Lubasan was declared the winner in a contest held during the City's 73rd Charter Day celebration. The lyrics spoke of the honorable Ilonggo men and women which brought pride in the City.
The hymn will be played and sung in all public schools and government offices.
