Roberto's: Ay Kanamit (Gid)!

Located alongside Iloilo City's old JM Basa St., ROBERTO'S has withstood the test of times... From yesteryears until now, their famous SIOPAO is still one of the most sought-after food of locals and visitors that flocks into the city...with a size that could fill an empty stomach up to the brim, and with its appetizing filling, one could not help but get hooked to it and, alas, keeps getting back for more!(i could still remember when i was in prep school and would eat the filling last to extend my happiness in eating Roberto's siopao!)...

One could choose from four types of siopao.. Jumbo siopao has filling of chinese sausage, chicken-pork adobo, and egg.. King siopao will have ham, chicken and pork adobo with egg.. and the most filling of all would be the QUEEN siopao, which are available only on selected days, which will have bacon, chicken and pork adobo, and with egg...they also offer the smaller-sized Pork Adobo siopao...

Another special flavor of ROBERTO'S that people keeps on ordering is a choice from their bihon, sotanghon, and canton menu..and i myself could say that it has its own distinct yummy flavor that i keep coming back on to...it is juicy and has garnishings that really adds to the appetite...other offerings of Roberto's include its chicken meals (with rice), meat servings (meatballs, morcon, camaron relleno, and fried lumpia), burgers, spaghetti, coolers (ice cream, fruit salad, shake, and halo-halo)...

though the place has great food to choose from, an experience dining in at Roberto's is not at all great.. the place is almost always crowded, so getting a seat is hard..the waiters are not at all customer-friendly, and you have to shout several times just so they will notice you and take your order..even at the cashier area, sometimes you'll get a nerve-wracking experience...



And as for their slogan "Ay Kanamit!", one would surely prove this to one's self and neglect all the odds just to have a savor of Roberto's food...
