Takuri Cafe: Feel At Home

Hidden amongst the maze-like streets in Brgy. Cuartero, Jaro is a homey cafe which serves Malaysian coffee, home-cooked oriental dishes I assumed that were collected from the owners' travels, and local desserts that are just so yummy. The name's Takuri Cafe.

THE SHOPS at Atria: Part I

The Shops at Atria by the Ayala Land Inc. officially opened five months ago. Located at Brgy. San Rafael, Mandurriao, Iloilo City, it features local and established restaurants, retail, and service shops. Some of these shops include BPI, Salon de Rose, Mercury Drug, and 7-Eleven.

The concept of the place is that of an open garden (like Bonifacio Global City in Manila and Ayala Northpoint in Bacolod) with a mini plaza at its center where some events are held. The place is located few minutes away from SM City Iloilo, Plazuela de Iloilo, and Smallville Complex.

Yusay-Consing Mansion

Thank you for APEC 2015 because it has brought some good changes in the city. Roads were wider and more presentable, more business and leisure opportunities for the Ilonggos, and more ways to showcase our heritage. One of such ways is the opening of the preserved Yusay-Consing Mansion in Molo, Iloilo City.

We've got a new go-to place for conversations and desserts, and currently this is the most heavenly place for me! The name's Pan & Griddle located at the second floor of Westland Gateway Complex.

I've been busy lately with work, but not busy enough to celebrate my birthday for one whole month! It took a lot of planning to meet everybody's schedule, but it was worth it. One of the first to open at The Shops at Atria by Ayala Land Inc. Donato Pison Avenue is Asian Spoon. I heard that it is also under the same management as Cilantro Vietnamese Restaurant. The restaurant offers flavors from Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam (these are the only countries that I can remember listed on their menu).

Because I love Mario Maurer and his movies (A Little Thing Called Love and Pee Mak), I have been curious about this new and quaint-looking Tea House near CPU. And since then I have been wanting to try out what Sawadee Thai Tea and Snack House has to offer.

A good friend invited us to try out the new restaurant he saw at Robinson's Mall named Spanish Tapas Bar. We immediately said yes because it was that time when you just have to meet, to talk about your lives just to let the stress out, and because we got all curious and wanted to try some new dishes. Then came Easter Sunday, which gave us the time and reason for such gathering.

I've been busy with work, managed to have that foodtrip with friends, but unfortunately haven't had the luxury of editing, uploading, and making posts. Thanks much to social media (well, mostly Facebook) that I get to discover places that are unique, have refreshing themes, and that I can fall in love with. Stuckers Resto in Mandurriao is definitely in my list.

It's Labor Day and I found myself thinking of eating at Chico Shade in Sta. Barbara after I've seen pictures of it online. Besides it's just less than a minute away from home so I made my way to it for lunch.

A new addition to the City's expanding list of flavor experience is Caffe Itallianni, a coffee joint in Robinson's Place, which offers Italian coffee and flavor to the Ilonggos.

INDULGE in DULGIES

After the much-needed shopping in SM Delgado (yes, much needed but it hurt my purse >_<) I went to Dulgies, a cafe and desserts shop that sells homemade baked goodies, with a friend to do some catching up and also to fill the hungry belly :)

While looking for list of people from Iloilo, I came across the name Paulino Alcantara Riestra. What piqued my interest was the category he was in: international football player who played for Europe's FC Barcelona. Curious, I clicked the link and was amazed by what I've found out.
