For a cheap, fun-filled activity, one could choose from several malls within the city...with just one or two rides you can easily go mall-hopping without the hassle of maze-like streets and jeepneys...
SM City Iloilo
|
SM City Iloilo along Benigno Aquino Ave., Mandurriao Iloilo City is the biggest mall so far. It houses several branded shops from hardware to clothing, their department store has more items to choose from, and it's the ultimate destination due to its accesibility. The first ever Iloilo Starbucks Coffee franchise is located at its Southpoint.

SM Delgado
|
The first-ever SM branch in Iloilo is in Delgado Street, thus the name SM Delgado. It has withstood the test of times even after other malls have been put up. It has been renovated from its two-building original plan. And my earliest memory in this mall was of the live Santa during holiday season, where children could sit upon his lap, given candies, and take pictures. And yes, I cried that time because I was afraid of the big, fat guy with long hair, and who was wearing red ^_^. I think they still do this up to now.
The Iloilo Supermart chain is homegrown with main branch at Delgado Street. I can still remember during my childhood that we will eat cotton candy and buy lechon manok at their original branch. Now with branches at Molo, Mandurriao, and Jaro it has surely reached out to a great number of Ilonggos. As the name implies it is a grocery store, but its Atrium Mall at General Luna St. (across the Iloilo Provincial Capitol), offers more than grocery. It houses local clothing stores, gadget stores, and restaurants. The first-ever McDonald's branch is located at its front side, and Days Hotel is located at its topmost floors.
Marymart Center
|
One of the oldest establishment in Iloilo City, Marymart Center is located along Delgado Street, beside the main Iloilo Supermart (with a bridge connecting the two) and SM Delgado. This is where you could find lots of gadget kiosks, family businesses such as clothing stores, and lots of tyangge.
Gaisano City Iloilo
|
Gaisano City Iloilo in Luna Street, La Paz (near the La Paz Public Market) is the second branch of Gaisano Malls in Iloilo City, with the main branch at Guanco St., City Proper (across University of Iloilo). When we do our wholesale grocery it is one of our choices because it has a lower price. PhilHealth Iloilo recently moved here on its ground floor.
Robinson's Place Iloilo
|
The newest addition in Ilonggo's mall experience was Robinson's Place Iloilo, located at Cor. De Leon and Quezon Sts. near the the Iloilo Terminal Market (or locally called Super). It boasts of a fountain located at the center of its Designer's Circle, where branded clothing shops are located. Many activities are also held on this area, like pageants and trade shows. The mall also has its Paseo de Iloilo near the carpark building where additional restaurants are located, and if my memory serves me right, the first branch of Mang Inasal opened here. LTO has a branch here, and some of the city's offices are also located here.
HERE'S MY SUGGESTED ITINERARY
For some mall-hopping experience in Iloilo City, you could start at SM City Iloilo, then ride a any jeepney (or taxi if you don't want to get lost) bound to Robinson's Place Iloilo. From there you could walk aprroximately 1-2 blocks towards Marymart Center and SM Delgado, and walk further to Atrium Mall. Then you could ride a jeepney going to Gaisano City Iloilo.
Whew! Easy, huh? Enjoy your adventure!
