the Flight on the AIRLINER

aptly named for its location in front of the runway of the previous airport in Mandurriao, the AIRLINER MANOKAN probably enjoyed greatness in those days when the airport was still operational.. but today, a few of the patrons and those who hear about this good place by word of mouth flocks into its native-style interiors...I myself just heard about this place recently, but after the first taste of their baked talaba, Cabatuan's tinuom na manok (binakol sa dahon), and even just the simple grilled pork, i kept on coming back for more..i still haven't got tired of their cooking, even if i ordered it again and again!

the place is located along the road, just past the curve of the road which will take you to Western Visayas Medical Center..one should ride the SM City-Robinson's Mandurriao, and not the Jaro Mandurriao jeep to take you directly to the place..private cars will have to park along the road...and you'll never miss the place, because of a handful of signs of AIRLINER's specialty cooking placed in front of the restaurant..once you enter you will be greeted by a gray fountain (with no running water)...although the place looks a little bit run-down,it is clean, and you'll have some privacy if you decide to settle down in the interior part...

AIRLINER offers the usual food at very affordable prices: talaba, pork chop, and litson manok..the specialty of the house includes pritson manok (prito and litson), sisig (pork, bangus) manila-style, and tinuom na manok (chicken soup wrapped in banana leaf)... i love their baked talaba because the shell is clean and you will always get a big-sized talaba even if the season for talaba is not that good! (way back December, a friend told me that the quality of talaba was not good that time because of their size, which was small and shrunken..but when we ordered in the Airliner our talaba were big and yummy!)

one more great thing about Airliner is that it's not always full, so you just have the time to enjoy..but whether or not the place be full again someday, i'll still be enjoying the food on the flight aboard the AIRLINER!
